Any $10 bill that has a green seal is known as a Federal Reserve note. We separate $10 bills as follows:
Unfortunately, most $10 federal reserve notes are not going to be worth much more than $10 in most cases. This is simply due to the fact that they aren't rare. There are plenty of varieties that have the chance to be rare and collectible, but generally speaking, modern ten dollar bills are common.
When looking at old green seal ten dollar bills, you need to look for bills that are in uncirculated condition, or that have a serial number that ends with a star symbol. Star notes from 1928 are usually rare and collectible. $10 star notes from 1934 certainly have the chance to be valuable, but some are common. Star notes from 1950 and newer generally don't carry much of a premium. Also look for low serial numbers. A low serial number should start with at least five zeros.
