How To Identify Counterfeit Confederate Money

A sad reality about Confederate money is that 97% of what is out there is fake. The 3% that is authentic usually isn’t very valuable. The information below is a list of serial numbers of known counterfeit confederate money. This list is very easy to use.

Listing of Authentic Confederate Paper Money

If your denomination and year matches the serial number listed, then what you have is not authentic and it has no collector value. There are no exceptions. Some of these notes can be bought today at museums and historical sites for pennies. Others were given away in cereal boxes starting in the 1950s.
