Value of Fifty Dollar Bill from the Series of 1934D

Most circulated 1934D $50 bills are still worth very close to face value.  They are just too common and available to be worth much more than $50 in most cases.  Uncirculated examples and star notes will command a premium.

1934D $50 star notes were issued for Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Richmond, Atlanta, and Chicago.  Regular issue 1934D $50 bills were printed for those same districts Minneapolis and Dallas.

Remember that the series letter refers to the letter listed after or below 1934 as seen below.  It has nothing to do with the letter that begins or ends the serial number.

Series of 1934D green seal fifty dollar bills were signed by Georgia Neese Clark as the Treasurer of The United States and by John W. Snyder as the Secretary of the Treasury.

As with most fifty dollar bills, the series of 1934D fifty dollar bill has a picture of Ulysses S Grant on the front and The U.S. Capitol on the back of it.  All series of 1934D fifty dollar bills were printed in Washington DC.

Series of 1934D $50 bills with a green seal are called Federal Reserve Notes.  As such they have the following nomenclature on them:  “This Note Is Legal Tender For All Debts, Public And Private, And Is Redeemable In Lawful Money At The United States Treasury, Or At Any Federal Reserve Bank.” And “Federal Reserve Note The United States Of America Will Pay To The Bearer On Demand Fifty Dollars” – “The United States of America Fifty Dollars”  And keep in mind that nothing from 1934 will ever say “In God We Trust”.

We are interested in purchasing uncirculated series of 1934D $50 notes.  We are also buying all 1934D $50 star notes.  If you have something you think we would be interested in then please send an image to admin@oldcurrencyvalues.com
