Description:  Series of 1915 and series of 1918 five dollar bills look exactly the same.  Series of 1915 bills were issued first.  Series of 1918 were issued in response to new legislation.

Generally speaking, series of 1918 $5 bills can be rare.  Each 1915 $5 federal reserve bank note has a picture of Abraham Lincoln on the left hand side of the bill.  The seal and serial numbers are printed in blue ink.

There were no five dollar star notes issued for the series of 1915.
